[00:00:02] My name is Jessica Chicorelli, and I’ve been with Charles Schwab for two and a half years.

[00:00:08] I've always wanted to help people, and being into health and wellness, I got my degree in Health Science.

Cut to Jessica in athletic clothing, holding a tennis racket, as she walks onto the tennis court. We see her in a tennis stance, hitting a tennis ball served to her.

[00:00:15] My goal was to work for a corporation and run their Health and Wellness program, which landed me a job in Employee Benefits. So really, I started on the Plan Sponsor side of things.

[00:00:25] I learned early on that small savings you do daily can add up to big savings for your future. So I became a student of personal finance and wanted to learn how to build enough wealth to live with freedom and security.

We see pictures laid out on a table of her four kids together, smiling.

[00:00:39] I have four kids, and they tell me that I've encouraged them to start saving. If they earn money for something, they'll ask me to put a portion of that into their savings account. It's music to my ears.

[00:00:51] Doing this for my family and my clients has shown me that you have to be mentally well, physically well, and financially well.

Cut back to Jessica at the tennis court, skillfully returning another shot.

[00:00:59] That's why I love my job at Schwab.

Cut to Jessica outside the Schwab office building, looking determined.

[00:01:02] Another reason I love my job is also something that sets us apart — the people. We have this huge team, but we're all in it together.

Jessica is at a table working with three of her colleagues around a dry-erase whiteboard table. They are drawing on the table, coming up with a plan together.

[00:01:11] And to me, it's refreshing. I've never experienced that before. If I call on anyone at Schwab to help with an issue or a challenge, either they're going to help me or they are going to find somebody else that can. You're never alone.

Cut back to Jessica and her colleagues working around the table. There are shots of them smiling together as they work, and other shots of them looking focused on the task at hand.

[00:01:25] I'm happy that I can put on my Plan Sponsor hat to help my teammates. I'll think, "What would I want my expert to do for me in this moment?".

[00:01:34] It always amazes me how much we at Schwab listen to our client's words, listen to what's going on with their business and their teams, and how that may impact their plans or employees.

[00:01:45] I'm very proud to be a part of Schwab.

[00:00:02] My name is Clay Alliston and I'm the Southeast Sales Director for Schwab Retirement Plan Services.

[00:00:06] I've been in the business for 21 years now, my entire career, really working in the corporate retirement plan space.

We see pictures laid out on a table. One picture says, “Yale University School of Architecture.” The other pictures are of notable buildings across the Yale campus.

[00:00:12] Growing up, I thought I was going to be a famous athlete or architect. But after a summer internship at a regional bank, I was inspired to change my major to economics and really enjoyed getting to see people saving and the power of compounding interest. It led me to this career.

Clay is working with two of his colleagues around a laptop. They are all smiling while discussing their work.

[00:00:28] I came to Schwab because of their stellar reputation for culture and the guiding principle of always doing the right thing for the client. I believe we provide something that many consultants and plan sponsors appreciate, and it really is building relationships. Getting to understand clients and their needs, and not selling a product.

Cut to Clay walking through the Schwab office, looking motivated. There are some shots of him walking through the office on his cell phone, talking to clients.

[00:00:44] Schwab also has a boutique mindset. We're flexible, but we're backed with the breadth of products and services found in large financial institutions.

[00:00:59] Here at Schwab, we're not selling recordkeeping. We're not selling technology. Our people and the relationships we create do the selling for us. We're also not naive enough to think that a lot of our competitors will say "We're different".

Cut back to Clay walking through the office, talking to clients on his cell phone.

[00:01:14] Sometimes it's difficult to understand and believe, but it's because of our incredible people at Schwab, many of whom have been working together for 10 to 20 years, that make them believe us and say, "Wow, you guys really do what you say you do."

Cut back to Clay working with his two colleagues around the laptop.

[00:01:31] Choosing a retirement plan vendor is about more than finding the right recordkeeper. It really is about finding the right team. Team of people who can help employees across all aspects of their financial lives, and Schwab is uniquely positioned to do that.

Cut to Clay talking to clients on his cell phone, this time looking out the window. We see the view outside of a large American flag on a flagpole. Clay is smiling while speaking with his client.

[00:01:46] So even though I'm in sales, I never feel like I'm selling or pushing anything. My job is to simply demonstrate the Schwab difference and say, "Thanks for having us.".

[00:01:56] So yeah, I love what I do.

[00:00:02] My name is Angela Tyrpak and I'm a Senior Relationship Manager at Schwab Retirement Plan Services.

[00:00:09] Wanting to help people has always been a part of who I am. I thought nursing would be a perfect path, but I had to switch gears once I realized I didn't really have the stomach for it.

[00:00:19] My first job out of college was in the call center at Schwab. Then I got married and had children, and decided to step away from work for a while.

A picture of Angela with her children is shown.

[00:00:26] After my kids were in school, I looked back at my time at Schwab and remembered that the culture and people are what brought me there in the first place.

Cut to Angela in a yoga studio, placing a yoga mat on the floor. She then sits down on the mat with her legs crossed and eyes closed, focused.

[00:00:35] That culture, combined with wanting to make a positive impact in people's lives, is what brought me back 13 years later. People work their whole lives and it's so rewarding to help them to relax and be financially secure.

[00:00:48] My start in the call center really prepared me to be a wonderful retirement relationship manager, because I had already understood what plan sponsors are hearing, what they're going through, and what their participants are asking for.

Cut back to Angela in the yoga studio, still seated on the mat, meditating with her eyes shut. There is a close-up on her eyes as she opens them.

[00:01:01] My calm nature and my background as a yoga teacher also helped me to relate to my clients. Being empathetic truly does build stronger relationships.

[00:01:10] I remember a time a client was super stressed. I said, "This is what I'm here for. Let's work through this together." What was really nice is that we broke down barriers neither of us knew existed. We became much closer and she thanked me for the amount of exhale that I provided.

Cut back to Angela in the yoga studio, in a pose with her hands flat on the mat.

[00:01:25] Getting back to the people here, they are all amazing. I love working with the sales team, they prepare us all so well.

Angela is seated with two colleagues around a laptop, discussing business with them.

[00:01:33] We had a presentation recently and the prospect said we did phenomenal. We talked all about the points they cared about, what was important to them. We listened to them.

[00:01:43] In the end, this future client said, "These are my people." I get it. These are my people too.

[00:00:02] My name is Joe Szathmary and I’m a Practice Lead here at Schwab Retirement Plan Services.

[00:00:06] Growing up in a lower middle class household, it was tough for my parents to make ends meet. My father sometimes had to take on a second job, but we always seemed to have what we needed.

[00:00:17] I remember my dad sitting at the dinner table with his yellow pad, working through the budget every Sunday. He was so meticulous.

We see Joe working at his desk, writing on a notepad.

[00:00:24] One day I asked him to show me how he kept things in order. It was very interesting. And the reason why I went on to get a degree in Business and Economics.

Cut to a shot of the interior of the Schwab office building lobby. We then see a computer in one of the offices, showing the homepage of the Schwab website.

[00:00:31] Before I interviewed at Schwab, I did some research. If you look at the Schwab website, you see things like, "We put the clients first. We see through our clients eyes.".

[00:00:40] If I had a dime for every time I heard that from other companies, I'd have a lot of dimes.

[00:00:44] But when I started meeting with folks here at Schwab, I'm like, "These guys are not just saying it. They're living it."

Joe is now seated with two of his colleagues, working together. Joe is talking to one of the colleagues seated while he writes notes down on his notepad.

[00:00:50] I'm around some of the best people in the industry, not only because of their experience, but also their ability to communicate with clients. They understand their clients.

[00:00:59] I remember when I first started at Schwab, I was part of a sales opportunity with a client that was having service issues with their current provider. The client needed us to understand their data requirements. They also needed help with their merger and acquisition activity.

Joe is now seated around a laptop with the same two colleagues from the previous b-roll shot.

[00:01:12] Working closely with the client contact, we built a comprehensive data filtering process, and developed an M&A Guide, which we used to bring in 14 acquisitions in their first year.

[00:01:23] There are four key principles that helped us achieve this: accountability, transparency, communication, and collaboration.

[00:01:30] And those four tenets, I think, are why folks do business with us, because we make it easy to do business with us.

[00:00:03] My name is Juliana MacTaggart and I am a Director of Consultant Relations for Schwab Retirement Plan Services.

[00:00:09] I am very passionate about saving for retirement.

We see a picture of Juliana as a child, with her mother and father. We see another picture of Juliana as a young adult, with her arm around her father.

[00:00:12] Growing up in Colombia, I saw my dad build his civil engineer company from scratch. He worked very hard, but he didn't prepare for retirement. And when times became rough, he lost a lot.

[00:00:22] That's been a lesson that has stayed with me and it made me determined to find a career that would allow me to always take care of myself and make better decisions.

Juliana is now on a golf course, in golf attire, setting up a golf ball on a tee. We see her tee off with a clean drive.

[00:00:31] I wanted to come to the United States to study. I was very fortunate to get a golf scholarship, which allowed me to play golf only part of the year while earning my Economics degree. I came here with two suitcases, my golf bag and myself.

[00:00:44] By pure luck, my first job out of college was in the finance department in a retirement company.

[00:00:49] And shortly after that, I realized how important it is to help participants understand the value of saving now for later. It brought back how my own parents weren't prepared for their retirement.

Cut to an exterior shot of the Schwab office building, with the signage centered in view.

[00:01:00] When that company got sold, I found a job at Schwab. It's been one of the best things that has happened to me.

[00:01:06] Because Schwab is a company that really cares about our clients. And our clients know it!

[00:01:10] It's so rewarding to hear from them that our people and our service aren't just best-in-class, but that they truly help their participants prepare for retirement.

Juliana is standing in a hallway on the second floor of the office with a colleague. Juliana is holding a folder and reviewing the contents of this folder with her colleague.

[00:01:19] I also feel lucky to be at Schwab because we care about and help each other. We believe in what we do and we do it with kindness.

[00:01:27] I remember a time I didn't know the answer to a client's question. So I hopped on my little canoe and paddled down the Schwab River until I found a person that could help me.

Juliana is seen walking through the office with a colleague, towards a dry-erase whiteboard table where two more colleagues are waiting for them.

[00:01:36] It is a great feeling knowing I can entrust my client to a teammate who will take care of them as well as I do.

Cut back to Juliana with her three colleagues, planning at the whiteboard table. We then cut to Juliana back at the golf course, teeing off on another hole with a drive.

[00:01:42] I sometimes even play golf with them! If they're lucky.

[00:00:41] Objectively, as I tried to make the decision, I made charts about the pros and cons of each firm. And my dad's advice was really simple as I was struggling with the decision.

Animated shot of a pen over a clipboard. The pen writes “Pros” and “Cons” on a clipboard.

[00:00:51] He said, "Marci, think about how each firm made you feel throughout the hiring process. That represents their culture. That's how they're going to treat you as an employee and how they're going to treat their clients and how you'll be expected to treat your clients."

Cut to Marci walking through the main lobby of the Schwab office. She greets a colleague waiting for her in the lobby, and they shake hands. The colleague opens a folder and goes over the contents with Marci. There are shots of them smiling and nodding at each other as they work together.

[00:01:06] His advice made the decision very simple. They gave me time to consider my options and I'm so thankful that I called my dad that day. It's been a great decision.

[00:01:17] At our business, it really all comes down to the people. That's what makes Schwab different from all of the rest. Everyone here cares so much about helping not only each other, but also helping our clients achieve their goals.

We see Marci and her colleague leave the lobby. Cut to Marci working with two other colleagues in the office, drawing on a dry-erase whiteboard table.

[00:01:31] We do our best to be empathetic—to see through their eyes. And when you combine that with the depth of knowledge and experience, and our wide array of services, we come up with solutions that our clients never imagined possible. And that's what makes them stay with us.

[00:01:48] It's also probably one of the main reasons that I'm still here 25 years later. Because from day one, I felt cared about. We don't just talk the talk. We walk the walk at Schwab.

Cut back to Marci outside, with her bag over her shoulder. We now see that she has been walking towards the Schwab office.

[00:01:59] That's why I don't feel like my job is as much a responsibility as it is a privilege.

[00:00:02] My name is Marci Stewart and I'm Director of Client Experience for Schwab Retirement Plan Services.

[00:00:07] For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to help people. When I grew up, I thought I would be a teacher.

Cut to a shot of Marci walking outside with a bag over her shoulder.

[00:00:14] But as I got older, I started helping my parents bookkeeping both of their small businesses. And I realized as a teenager, that I loved math and statistics.

[00:00:24] Kind of geeky, I know.

Briefly cut back to Marci walking outside.

Marci Stewart: Director of Client Experience, math lover.

Marci loves math. But you know what she geeks out on more than crunching numbers? Helping others.

[00:00:02] My name is Rebecca Clark and I'm a Practice Lead for Charles Schwab Retirement Plan Services.

[00:00:07] If you had asked me when I was growing up, or even in college, if I would eventually have this job, I would have said, "No way." My parents' idea of saving was putting cash into an envelope.

We see Rebecca standing in the lobby of the Schwab office, reviewing a folder with one of her colleagues. They are smiling together as they go over the folder.

[00:00:18] Even in school, we weren't taught about financial wellness, how to be responsible, how to build credit, how to save. That's why I love what I do, because I'm able to help so many people build a healthier financial future.

[00:00:31] Some colleagues and I were recently volunteering in the community, and we ran a financial simulation for about 30 kids. It was incredible to see how kids, even at a very young age, can understand financial concepts. They're like little sponges, and it feels good to help start them off on the right foot.

We see pictures of Rebecca working with a group of kids in a school. One of the pictures shows the whole class smiling for the camera, and another one of the pictures shows many kids in blue shirts standing in front of a sign that reads “Charles Schwab Thank You!”

[00:00:48] When people ask me what's different about Schwab, I always say our people. We have an incredible team. Like a really, really incredible team. I don't think we talk about our people enough.

Cut to Rebecca working around a dry-erase whiteboard table with three of her colleagues. She is drawing on the board as they discuss business together.

[00:01:00] Everyone here is just as excited and motivated as I am to help our clients, help each other and help the communities we live in—and I think it really shows.

Rebecca and a client are walking down a hallway in the office together, smiling as they talk to each other. The two walk towards a table with chairs and sit down to work together.

[00:01:10] Schwab makes it very easy for us to do our jobs. Plan sponsors often ask me if Schwab can help their employees and ways beyond their 401K. The answer is yes!

[00:01:20] We offer a total financial experience to help them build stronger futures. And because they already know us, they trust us.

Cut back to Rebecca with her client. Rebecca points to a laptop as they discuss their business together.

[00:01:28] It's very rewarding knowing they could go anywhere, yet they are choosing us. All of this is why I'm excited to come to work every day at Schwab.
