Summarizing the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022

At the end of 2022, Congress built upon the SECURE Act of 2019 and passed more provisions affecting retirement plans in the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022 ("SECURE 2.0"). Part of a larger spending bill, the legislation includes dozens of changes intended to encourage companies to start new plans, strengthen existing plans, and bolster employee participation.
